Signs Pt 11

Sign Seven-
Mat 24:9  Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you
Sign  Eight-
Mat 24:9  ...and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

Christ followers afflicted, killed, hated?

Read the following--

'Persecution of Christians can be traced historically from the time of Jesus in the first century to the present time.[1] Early Christians were persecuted for their faith at the hands of both Jews from whose religion Christianity arose and the Roman Empire which controlled much of the land across which early Christianity was distributed. Early in the fourth century, the religion was legalized by the Edict of Milan, and it eventually became the State church of the Roman Empire. By no means was that the end of the persecution. Michael Gaddis wrote:

Christian missionaries as well as the neophytes that they converted to Christianity have been the target of persecution, many times to the point of being martyred for their faith.
There is also a history of individual Christian denominations suffering persecution at the hands of other Christians under the charge of heresy, particularly during the 16th century Protestant Reformation.

In the 20th century, Christians have been persecuted by various groups, and by atheistic states such as the USSR and North Korea. The Christian missionary organisation Open Doors (UK) estimates 100 million Christians face persecution, particularly in Muslim-dominated countries such as Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.[3][4] They also face persecution in atheistic states like North Korea in which there is no religious freedom.[5] A recent study, cited by the Vatican, reported that 75 out of every 100 people killed due to religious hatred were Christian.[6][7]'

*******

Are Christ followers hated, afflicted, killed?  It's a fact.

And historically they've been persecuted continuously, even by their supposed own.

God's people, His true followers have always been persecuted and will continue to be persecuted until our Savior returns.

Maybe you aren't personally openly HATED, AFFLICTED, or in danger of being KILLED, but many are.

You are HATED by Satan and all Satan's followers, don't forget that. We tend to forget that we are hated when  truthfully we are constantly under a barrage of hatred from unseen spiritual forces that are busy influencing our lives negatively any way they can.

We are hated.

We are truly hated by men and women around the world who steadfastly hate ALL Christ followers.  Your winning personality here in the land of the free, would win you NOTHING in another country dominated by those whose faith tells them to HATE all Christ followers.

The signs are true.
The signs are real.
The signs are here for us to take NOTE of, often, and realize that we are living in prophecies fulfilled, signs fulfilled, signs that MUST make us realize that EVERY day we need to be growing closer to our SAVIOR, every day is ONE day closer to our LORD'S return.  PRAISE GOD!

All in HIS LOVE!

Signs of the Time Pt. 10

Mat 24:10  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

Offended.
Betraying.
Hating.

This is everywhere.

We can deny it. We can say we don't hate and know any haters. We can say we've never betrayed anyone and do not know any betrayers. We can say we've never offended anyone, and know not any offenders.  We can say all that but we'd be lying.

I'm not saying you're hateful, or a betrayer, or an offender but I'm saying there are a lot of people who are hating, betraying, and offending others and they are doing so all the time.

Again we must come to the realization that today people call evil things good and this is very true in this respect as well.

Isa_5:20  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Gen_6:5  And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Luk_17:26  And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

Many shall be offended.
Many shall betray one another.
Many shall hate one another.

These are SIGNS.

Do we see these signs in our world?
Do we see them daily?

Do we feel nothing when we see them?
Have we become immune to the evil of these signs?

Are we among those who have begun to call evil, good?

Seriously, these are questions that need asking and answering.

And if we dare to say this is all just part of life, then we are excusing evil, and in excusing evil we are guilty of that evil.

We love to make excuses for evil by calling it natural, calling it normal. And before you say you don't do this, realize that every time you offend anyone in word or deed even in the littlest way you are sinning and sinning is evil. Yet, we do this and we accept it as being normal. We tell our children that life is tough and people are cruel, that's just the way life is.  We say it as if it is normal, but it's not, it's tragic that we have to live in a world filled with sin in so many, many ways that we call it all normal.

These signs--

'And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. '

--have been covered in layer after layer of filth until we can barely see them as signs any longer. Satan has done his work well.

Open our eyes, please Lord, open our eyes to the signs.

We cannot afford to say that these signs have been the same for generation after generation, after generation and therefore no longer relevant to us today.

In our past 'Signs of the Times' studying we've seen where a major sign as recent as 1980, and hint towards another major fulfillment of prophecy is currently underway, so how can we say these signs- ALL of them are not relevant in some manner.  Some past signs are relevant simply because they have been fulfilled and are history. Other signs serve to remind us of the EVIL surrounding us, evil that is filling almost every single corner of our world, evil that will fill men's heart continuously until this world ends as our Savior returns for us!

Please, Lord, save us! Please, Father, Keep us from EVIL.

All in YOUR LOVE!

Signs of the Times Pt. 9

Mat 24:11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

You're too smart to be deceived by a false prophet, aren't you?  We all think we are. We have in our minds this picture of a false prophet and we've given him (because inevitably they seem to be male) wild, crazy hair and possibly a scraggly beard. This false prophet's eyes are the eyes of a lunatic, and his smile is just as crazy and creepy. He is most likely wearing some funky robe attire and he will definitely be spouting nonsense usually from the top of his lungs at wary passerby's.  This is the image we've bestowed upon modern prophets for the most part.  Of course if you're much too sophisticated to even imagine that sort of stereotypical ideal of a false prophet then you've most likely dressed your false prophet up in a nice suit and given him a clean cut hair style and the words drip from his mouth like sweet nectar.  Because he's a false prophet however, you've given him secret vices hidden from plain view.  Again, you're much too savvy to be taken in by even this sophisticated false prophet, right? Right.

The trouble with both of these scenarios of sorts is that we HAVE to take these words into account-

SHALL DECEIVE MANY.

No, it doesn't say, shall deceive all, but it does say MANY.

And unless you are God's, truly God's in all His truth, you will be among those many who are DECEIVED.

The deceived will NOT know they are DECIEVED, that would negate the word DECEIVED.  They won't know they are deceived until it's too late.

They'll try to use their deceptive state as an excuse too-

Mat 7:22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

DECEIVED!

They'll be able to count the multitude of things they have done all for Christ, but He knows better. He knows that none of those things were truly done for HIM, but rather for secret, self-deluded, selfish ends.  We can help others until we are worn to the bone but that will NOT count as our being known of CHRIST if we do these things falsely.

Deception is heinous.

The deceived feel horrifically betrayed.

The deceived have to ask themselves if somehow they didn't allow themselves to be deceived.

We want to blame everything on the deceiver taking NO blame upon ourselves, but usually there is truly some small bit of guilt, not always, but usually.

There is ALWAYS going to be guilt on the part of the deceived when it comes to our being deceived by a false prophet. Those who are truly God's will be kept from evil. Those who are truly God's will have the Holy Spirit opening their hearts to all truth.  Only those who are deceived have acquiesced to that deception in some manner they've subsequently chosen to deny even to themselves until the day of Christ's return.

Everything will be revealed in the end.

Not a single person will be able to say in truthfulness that they are NOT guilty in and of their own accord.

Yes, those who are FALSE PROPHETS choosing deliberately to deceive others will suffer for their treachery, but those who have allowed themselves to fall prey to the deceiver will suffer along with them.

We are WARNED.

Mat 24:11  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Whether this false prophet wears 500 dollar suits, 1000 dollar suits, 20 dollars suits, or mere rags, there are MANY false prophets out there and they are deceiving all those they can from ALL walks of life. This false prophet could be a charismatic leader of a mega church, or the street preacher who doesn't boast of any church at all but has managed to deceive one other person.

We need to be on guard against FALSE PROPHETS, and the only way to do that is to know the TRUTH of God's word and LIVE that TRUTH.

A false prophet will not deceive you by telling you that they are lying. A false prophet will tell you they have the truth.  YOU have to go to God and His Word YOURSELF and study out the truth, not relying up ANYONE, NOT ME, NOT YOUR PASTOR, MINISTER, PRIEST, RABBI, GURU, FRIEND, or FAMILY to tell you the truth!  SEEK the TRUTH for YOURSELF in prayer and humility!

Follow NO MAN, but choose to follow ONLY CHRIST JESUS and HIS WORD PREACHED!

Please LORD we do NOT want to be among the deceived! We do NOT want to be among the MANY! Please LORD, help us! Guide us! Keep us, wholly YOURS! Known by YOU and knowing YOU!

All in YOUR LOVE LORD, in YOUR LOVE ALWAYS!

Signs Pt 8

Mat 24:12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Sometimes don't we wish we lived in an isolated place, far from the outside world with all its many horrors? I know I long for that but the truth is what we are truly longing for can only be found in another world, not this one.  We could hide away in some place here on earth but the horrors won't cease to exist.  In that isolation death and sickness, injury and pain will still find us all on our own without any outsiders contributing to it. The fact remains that this world is under a curse and has been given over to the ruling power of Satan.  This means that from the beginning after sin entered our world that it would fight for dominance and for the most part, it wins.  Of the innumerable amount of people that will have lived from earth's beginning until Christ comes again and take all those that are His with Him to heaven, the overwhelming majority will belong to Satan.

We can read the story of Sodom and Gomorrah and know by that example alone that the majority of people belong to Satan.

This verse here in Matthew 24:12 tells us that BECAUSE INIQUITY SHALL ABOUND- the LOVE of MANY SHALL WAX COLD.

All you have to do is read one day's worth of news to know that this is factual.

All you have to do is turn on the television and watch a day's worth of television, and you'll know.

Of course, if you've been BLINDED to what is evil, you won't comprehend the evil that exists and you'll actually call evil...good.  To you the world might be a mostly good place, the majority of people might be mostly good people, but the truth is vastly different. We can spin things in many directions but the truth is the LOVE of many is ICE COLD.

And the corresponding truth is that it is ice cold because, iniquity abounds.

SIN rules this world.

The closer you grow to Christ and His love, the clearer you can see the true evil of sin in its many, many forms- large and small.

And your heart breaks.

We have to stop donning our rose colored glasses called optimism, called wishful thinking, because the clearer sight they give is truly called deception.

Love, true love, God's love has been practically frozen solid it's so incredibly cold in our world today and sin reigns from the tiniest evil to the greatest.

Please LORD help our LOVE not wax cold but be burning hot, alive, on fire for YOU and all others as YOU would have our love truly be!

All through YOUR LOVE! By YOUR GRACE, YOUR MERCY!

And just moments ago on the news I heard the following:

A seventeen and fourteen year old are being charged in the murder of a toddler. They went up to the mother who was walking her baby in his stroller and demanded money. Then they shot the baby.  My heart breaks!  Love is ice cold, ice cold and iniquity abounds!

Save us, Lord, please, save us!

Signs Pt. 7

Sign  Twelve-
Mat 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

We have no real way of knowing when the gospel of the kingdom will have been preached in all the world- for witness unto all nations, do we?

But we do know this is one of the signs and this will have happened before our Savior returns.

This verse and this one-

Luk 21:24  And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Have a lot in common.

Luke 21 corresponds with Matthew 24- different writers of the same events giving different details of something very important.

When we read 'witness unto all nations' and 'until the times of the Gentiles (nations) be fulfilled', we get the idea that there is a time limit set here, as there has to be.

I put Gentiles(nations) because the word is the same word, translated interchangeably, check your Greek.

If during the time of the Gentiles(nations) the gospel would be preached in all the world for a WITNESS, then we read that Jerusalem would be trodden down until this time is fulfilled, we have to ask ourselves if this has occurred.

Has the time of the nations (gentiles) been fulfilled?
Is Jerusalem still trodden down by Gentiles or is it in the control of the Jewish nation?

In 1948 the Jews amazingly fought against the gentiles controlling Israel and took control of it once more, however, they did NOT have control of Jerusalem then.  It wasn't until 1967 that they took control of Jerusalem.  Then it wasn't until 1980 that they actually moved their capital to Jerusalem.

For 32 years the imminent sign that Jerusalem would no longer be under control of the Gentiles was in play and then it occurred.

So, in 1980 the TIMES OF THE GENTILES(NATIONS) was fulfilled and Jerusalem was NO long trodden down of the Gentiles.

What's this tell us?  Seriously?

We don't WANT to say it means that this has come to pass-

Mat 24:14  And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Why don't we want to say that? Because of the misconception that it means that all who will believe will have believed and no one else gets a chance. It doesn't say that at all! It says- the GOSPEL of the KINGDOM shall be PREACHED in all the WORLD for a WITNESS unto ALL NATIONS, and then…...shall…. the end come.

It will be preached, and then...shall… then it will happen, not in that moment the end comes.  This is another SIGN of the closeness of the end.

1980.

If in 1980 this sign was complete in the way of God's comprehension- not ours- then we have to realize just what time we are living in, don't we?

Yesterday we talked about the Abomination of Desolation and how things pointing to it's Papal phase fulfillment are CURRENTLY underway.

WHAT MORE DO WE NEED TO WAKE US UP?!

We are NOT living in a time when every single prophecy has been fulfilled, if that were the case we would not be here.  There are UNFULFILLED prophecies, and this one in Daniel 11:45 is a critical prophecy for us because as we read-

Dan 11:45  And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
Dan 12:1  And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

MICHAEL stands up, our SAVIOR FINISHES HIS MEDIATING IN HEAVEN FOR US!
And when He is finished- we are going to face a TIME OF TROUBLE SUCH AS NEVER WAS.
And when that time of trouble has gone through its course we shall be DELIVERED!

1980-  A fulfilled prophecy that we can look back upon in our history and comprehend its fulfillment.

1980- NOT 1880!  Just 33 years ago!

33 years ago a prophecy was fulfilled.  Shouldn't we be WATCHING?! Shouldn't we be PRAYING?!

Why don't we realize the times we are living in?!  Why don't we comprehend? Why are we so caught up in the cares of this life?

Satan is working extremely hard to keep us blinded and he'll stop at NOTHING to see that we are not saved, that we are not Jesus', this is the entire reason for his existence now, to steal all those he can from the conquering Savior and King, Jesus Christ our Lord!

Please LORD, keep us from EVIL!

Please SAVE US!

Wake us up, LORD!

Help us SEE!

It's YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS not ours!

YOUR GRACE AND MERCY!

All FAITH in YOU!

Signs Pt. 6

Continuing from yesterday I found something written by Elder William Grotheer that I thought very pertinent in explaining more of this verse-

Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Remember this was one of the SIGNS, we ignore the signs at our own peril.

Please, take the time to read ALL of the following, praying to our Lord for enlightenment.

*******

'THE JEWISH EQUATION

It would be well in reading this first article to have your Bible at hand and check carefully each reference as given. (Editor) Prior to Jesus' final departure from the temple, He declared in the hearing of the Jewish hierarchy, concerning their temple - it "is left unto you desolate.
(Matt. 23:38)

For how long?

Then Jesus uttered those words, which only the unrolling of the prophetic scroll will reveal their true meaning: - "Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord." (v. 39)

The temple was left desolate at that moment.

The sign of its desolation was not given till  three days later. (Matt. 27:51)

(((Mat 27:51  And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent))))

However, with-in hours, Jesus would tell his disciples about the sign which would warn them of the impending desolation of the city of Jerusalem. As Jesus departed the once sacred precincts, the amazed disciples called His attention to the structures of the temple. Jesus responded
by declaring that not one stone would be left upon another that would not be thrown down:
(Matt. 24:1-2)

(((Mat 24:1  And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
Mat 24:2  And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.))))

Significantly, Jesus did not end the history nor the prophetic importance of the city of Jerusalem at that point, only the temple. That night on the Mount of Olives, Jesus outlined the future for His disciples reaching to the end of the world. He defined three major signs, two of which would involve Jerusalem. Listed briefly, they are:

1) "The abomination of desolation" standing in "the holy place" which would signal the impending destruction of Jerusalem. (Matt.24:15 & Luke 21:20)

(((Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Luk 21:20  And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.))))

2) Signs in the sun, moon and stars. (Matt. 24:29; Mark 13:24-25; Luke 21:25a)

(((Mat 24:29  Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken
Mar 13:24  But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
Mar 13:25  And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.
Luk 21:25  And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars…))))

3) Jerusalem no longer trodden down - the times of the Gentiles fulfilled. (Luke 21:24)

(((Luk 21:24  And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.))))

Connected with His prophetic discourse, Jesus called attention to the book of Daniel (Matt.
24:15)

(((Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) ))))

There for the careful student is a third revelation involving Jerusalem. (See Dan. 11:45)

(((Dan 11:45  And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. ))))

In connection with this third revelation, is it possible that in a correct understanding of it, we can perceive the significance of Jesus' final utterance as  He left the temple? (Matt. 23:39)

(((Mat 23:39  For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. ))))

All of these events which have taken place, and are to take place in the history of Jerusalem coupled with the symbolism of the book of Revelation, constitute the Jewish "equation." In seeking to solve this "equation," it must be first noted with emphasis, that Jerusalem after 34 A.D. was no longer "the holy city of God," nor were the Jewish people per se, God's "chosen people."

It is true that Matthew, in noting the sign for the Christians to flee the city, described its presence as "in the holy place." (24:15)

(((Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)))))

Mark says "standing where it ought not." (13:14)

(((Mar 13:14  But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains))))

Luke literalizes it completely - "When ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies." (21:20)

Another factor in solving the Jewish "equation" is the question - How shall these references be interpreted?

Do we spiritualize these references, saying they have a double meaning, or a double application? Or do we take them literally in their given context clearly noting their fulfillment in history, or in a yet-to-be fulfilled event? In the development of the prophetic teachings of the Advent Movement, these very same questions confronted our spiritual forefathers.

One principle which they emphasized was  - "The Bible must be interpreted according to the plain, obvious, and literal import unless a figure is employed." ("Biblical Interpretation in the Advent Movement" in A Symposium on Biblical Hermeneutics, p. 119.)

The reason for this emphasis was that they were facing those who were seeking to counteract the message of Revelation 14 with the speculative philosophy of the second century church fathers. These father's concept of Scripture, Mosheim describes as follows:

They all believed the language of Scripture to contain two meanings; the one obvious and corresponding with the direct import of the words; the other recondite and concealed under the words, like the kernel by the shell: the former they neglected as of little value, and bestowed their chief attention on the latter; that is they were more intent on throwing obscurity over the sacred
writings by the fictions of their own imaginations, than of searching out their true meaning. (Ecclesiastical History, Cent. II, Chapt. III, par. 5)

There is little difference between the application of these 2nd Century philosophers, and their emphasis, and those today who use what is termed "double application" of Bible prophecy. For example, the words of Jesus in Matt. 24:15 are clearly recognized as having direct reference to the sign which marked the forthcoming destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, and served to alert the
Jewish Christians to flee the city. But it is thought there is another meaning to Jesus's words. The "Abomination of Desolation" is to stand in the Church as a "new" holy place. This fictitious concept is given the key emphasis in interpreting Matt. 24:15. A simple solution to the Jewish "equation"
would put all events in their proper place and give to the student light as to the last end of "the indignation."

A brief Overlook at Daniel In the dream given to Nebuchadnezzar, the fourth kingdom of iron is recognized as Rome. But the iron does not stop at the ankles, but extends down to the very tips of the toes.

In the first dream given to Daniel, the "little horn" ever remains a part of the fourth beast, although the interpretation given describes its activities separately.

Daniel's next vision (Chapter 8) reveals an "horn" coming out of one of the four winds (West), distinct and separate from the other symbols whose historic fulfillment centered in the Middle East. This "horn" was to be "broken without hand." (8:25)

(((Dan 8:25  And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. ))))

The final prophecy given to Daniel represents this same power which "shall come to his end, and none shall help him." (11:45)

In all these dreams and visions, Rome is pictured as one with two phases - pagan and papal.

In the book of Daniel, this two phased power is declared to be "the abomination of desolation." (8:13; 11:31; 12:11).

(((Dan 8:13  Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
Dan 11:31  And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.
Dan 12:11  And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days. ))))

It comes in contact with Jerusalem in its pagan form at the time it destroys the city and the temple. (9:26-27)

(((Dan 9:26  And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Dan 9:27  And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. ))))

This is the phase to which Jesus referred in His Olivet discourse (Matt. 24:15).

(((Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)))))

However, the book of Daniel tells of the time when the papal phase will like-wise come in contact with Jerusalem.

Under the symbolism of "the king" which shall magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods" (Dan. 11:36; compare with 7:25 & II Thess. 2:4),

(((Dan 11:36  And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

Dan 7:25  And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

2Th 2:4  Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. ))))

...the papal phase "shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain." (Dan. 11:45)

(((Dan 11:45  And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. ))))

And Daniel understood the "holy mountain" to be Jerusalem. (9:16)

(((Dan 9:16  O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us. ))))

MY THOUGHTS-

The abomination of desolation.

Clearly this is something we need to pay attention to.  Our Savior draws our attention to it and through extensive Bible study it is clear that the abomination of desolation IS Pagan and Papal ROME.

We can only comprehend this through a study of Daniel- and our SAVIOR points us to DANIEL. Jesus did NOT say … 'When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation…..stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)'

He said… 'Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) '

SPOKEN of by Daniel the prophet.

We know by studying Daniel that the book was closed up until the time of the end, and we know through a study of Revelation that the book that was shut up, we opened.  Understanding was to be given to those who would be living in the last days, in the grand scheme of things, in the thousands of years the earth existed they would be living in the tail end of those years.

We have understanding. In the mid 1800's men all over the world without any contact with each other were suddenly beginning to understand these books of prophecy. Our Savior wanted us to understand the book of Daniel and He said as much to us.

So understanding that we are to look for this prophecy in Daniel 11:45 to be fulfilled it is so incredibly important for us to watch the signs.

Dan 11:45  And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.

The 'he' is the abomination of desolation in it's papal form.
The papacy.

Is the papacy STILL in existence?

It sure is.

When the papacy plants the tabernacles of its palace in Jerusalem-  it will then come to its end - a process and ending that no one will be able to keep from happening. It doesn't say it'll be instantaneous, only that the papacy WILL come to its end.

Just a few months ago Jerusalem and the Papacy were in the news-  they are coming to agreements about territory in Jerusalem- something that will be finalized in June, according to the news.

Is this what we are supposed to be noting?

What does it have to do with us who are watching?

We are being told that it is coming.  We are being warned. We are watching for the thief in the night and we see that thief coming and because we see we have the advantage over the thief we will not be taken advantage of. Our eyes are OPENED, we see!  And in seeing we can be prepared. We must have the extra oil for our lamps all ready, and not be like the foolish virgins awaiting for the bridegroom without extra oil for their lamps.  We are being told to WAKE UP! Pray, watch, be ready!

There are many signs that have occurred already and signs that will go right up until the very end.

The verse after Daniel 11:45 tells us just how important it is for us to watch and understand what is happening.

Dan 12:1  And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

We will be entering a time of trouble that will include the seven last plagues, because after that time of trouble we will be DELIVERED! Our Savior returns!

By the GRACE and MERCY of our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, may we be among those delivered! May we be prepared by wholly relying up on HIM and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS all through HIS LOVE!

Signs Pt. 5

Sign Thirteen-
Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

DANIEL the prophet.

Who is Daniel the prophet?

There is a Bible book call Daniel and He was a prophet.

Dan 9:27  And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

So what does this mean?  Obviously Jesus was telling His disciples this would be one of the signs. Jesus didn't give signs that couldn't be understood, what would be the point. It would be like making a bunch of signs for English speaking people to follow and writing them all in German, they'd be no good to the English speaking people.  God gave His signs to us to comprehend. However, when people aren't seeking real truth, but rather fanciful theories to suit their own perceptions, they won't truly understand. If people are seeking to use what they perceive as confusion to make an example that the Bible is nonsense, they won't understand. We can't have our understanding opened unless God is truly our heart's desire, not something, not anything else. IF we aren't searching for our treasure in heaven we will not find the heavenly treasures given to us on earth, such as the understanding the Holy Spirit will give to those who are sincere in their seeking.

Having said all that, we've studied Daniel and the prophecies before. I'm going to find what I wrote before on Daniel 9:27 and see what understanding was given then.

******* I've copied this from the previous study- it's lengthy but worth the studying, especially because Jesus has USED this as a sign.

From the study called - Prophecy 22- dated Tuesday, July 05, 2011

Recap time.  Putting pieces into place. We've already discussed how we've arrived at these conclusions so we're not going to discuss this again at any great length. Please, go back and read any of the prophecy posts you might have missed if you find this confusing.  It's by the grace of God that we can understand at all. So pray, pray, pray!

Dan 9:24  Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

70 weeks- 490 years

Dan 9:25  Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

457 BC to 27AD
(483 years)

Dan 9:26  And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

From 483 years to 490 years we have 7 years (one week)

After those 483 we have 7 years left, during those 7 years the Messish would be cut off.

Dan 9:27  And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Here is that week that 7 years we are discussing now.

The covenant would be confirmed for one week (7 years) and in the midst of that 7 years the sacrifice and oblation will cease.   Did this happen?

Here we are at 27 AD  add half of that 7 years to that number and we get 31 1/2 AD.   Do you remember our earlier study about Jesus' death?  What year did we arrive at?  31 AD !  The prophecy is fitting into place!  Yet again we can see how the great prophecy puzzle pieces fall into place.

So when we say He (the Messiah) would confirm the covenant with many for one week and Jesus died after half that time, what happened at the end of the NEXT 3 1/2 years?

STEPHEN- Acts 6-7 describe his trial. He was stoned to death (c. A.D. 34–35) by an infuriated mob encouraged by Saul of Tarsus.[2] Stephen's final speech was presented as accusing the Jews of persecuting prophets who spoke out against their sins:
"Which one of the Prophets did your fathers not persecute, and they killed the ones who prophesied the coming of the Just One, of whom now, too, you have become betrayers and murderers." (7:52)

Not a coincidence! After Stephen was martyred what happened?

Act 7:58  And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.

Act 8:1  And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
Act 8:2  And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.
Act 8:3  As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.
Act 8:4  Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

Act 9:1  And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
Act 9:2  And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
Act 9:3  And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
Act 9:4  And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
Act 9:5  And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Act 9:6  And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Saul became Paul an undisputed champion of God! And Paul was the man of God who brought the word of God to who? The Gentiles!

Act 9:15  But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
Act 9:16  For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.

Until Stephen's death the gospel was exclusively being given to the Jewish people, not the Gentiles. When Stephen was stoned to death the Jewish people as a corporate whole sealed their fate- denying the gospel. The gospel was then to go to the Gentiles.  The covenant had been confirmed for one week (7 years), in the midst of that 7 years Jesus was crucified, at the end of that 7 years the Jewish people ultimately denied the gospel of our Savior and that covenant was over. The new covenant, the new Israel, those being grafted onto the True Vine were under way.

This prophecy fits perfectly into our history! Perfectly!

*
Now we need to remember that Gabriel came to Daniel to explain what? The 2300 year prophecy.  We know beyond a doubt it was 2300 years not literal days or half days etc, because that time passed between Gabriel giving that vision and His return to explain that vision that had Daniel so consumed with the need to comprehend. Daniel wanted it to make sense!  Jeremiah's 70 years was coming to a close, that had been a prophecy given and understood over Daniel's lifetime, and Daniel wanted this new prophecy to be understood. Daniel understood the previous vision of Nebuchadnezzar's dream statue and he lived to see Babylon overthrown by the Medes and Persians, he could comprehend this prophetic succession of ruling kingdoms. If one part of the prophecy had come to pass then the rest of it would as well beyond a doubt. Daniel knew from another vision that Grecia would over throw the Medes and Persians and He wasn't lacking understanding with that - not one bit.  The rest of the vision was what Daniel just couldn't fathom because he wasn't being asked to simply understand that one kingdom after another would come into play, but he was being told this--

Dan 8:9  And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
Dan 8:10  And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
Dan 8:11  Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
Dan 8:12  And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
Dan 8:13  Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
Dan 8:14  And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Dan 8:23  And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
Dan 8:24  And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
Dan 8:25  And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Dan 8:26  And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.

Now we know from previous studies that the Roman Empire would come after Greece and out of that Roman Empire- part of what would remain of the Roman Empire-  would be the Roman Papal rule. We learned that this power would live until Christ's second coming.   We learned that the Papacy fit all the prophet markers of this little horn power- and we know that the papacy still exists today as a unique power. We know that Satan would be in control of this very deceptive power - for deceit is just that something that is all but undetectable in its ability to trick.  It would do NO good for Satan to have a hand in something that wasn't deceptive. Satanists prove that, don't they? Satan deceives more people by appearing as close to the truth as he can, not by announcing his evil.  We know that Daniel was given visions and that so much of his prophetic visions have come true that there is NO way that the rest of his visions will fail. We know that so far in our study that we've been able to account for 490 of the 2300 year prophecy.  So let's do some more math.

Of the dates we've been given that match perfectly what has been prophesized we've been able to arrive at 34 AD. Our starting date beyond a doubt is 457 BC.   490 years are accounted for up to the 34 AD.

Taking our 2300 and subtracting 490 we are left with 1810 years.

Add that 1810 years to the 34 years we come up with the final date of the 2300 year prophecy and that is 1844 AD.

As we've done in the past we have to look at history along with our Bibles for an answer as to what happened in 1844.

We'll begin that study tomorrow, again taking this little bit by little bit.

It's fascinating how all this fits together so perfectly.

Maybe we can't understand every thing, maybe we're are not meant to understand every thing. We are meant to understand all we need to in order to be saved. Some might argue at this point that all we need is the gospel and no more. It is true that we are only saved through the forgiveness, through the sacrifice of our Savior. And if we accept the sacrifice of our Savior then we have to accept all of Him don't we? We have to accept all He says, not pick and choose what is pleasing to our senses. We can't just accept the feel-good parts and ignore that it was Jesus Himself who told us to WATCH and PRAY.

This studying is part of that watching Jesus wants us to do.

Mat 24:15  When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Those were Jesus' words!  Jesus talking about Daniel the prophet! We can choose to ignore this, it is our right to do so, or we can choose to take heed and study- watching and praying.

By His love!
By His mercy and grace!
In His righteousness forever!
Through His forgiveness!

Amen.

The abomination of desolation- MORE on this tomorrow, because this deserves a lot more study.

All by the grace of GOD!

By HIS MERCY AND LOVE!
