Exegesis and The Seven Last Plagues.

Continuing the Seven Last Plagues Study--
I'm reading through this study and not for the first time either, but several times and I have to say that it truly isn't a flowing, easy to comprehend study. This is meat, not milk and not meant for anyone looking to study without truly studying. Being given milk to drink is easy, but being given tough, chewy meat is something that takes a lot more skill. Babies don't start out with meat, they'd choke to death, and spiritual babies don't start out with spiritual meat either. If you're looking for a simple answer to the seven last plagues I could give you this--
The first plague is awful sores upon people who have the mark of the beast and worship the beasts image.
The second plague is the sea becoming dead man's blood and every living soul dies in the sea of blood.
The third plague is the fountains and waters turning to blood and this is for those who have killed saints and prophets of God.
The fourth plague is the sun scorching those who blaspheme God, not giving God the glory that is His.
The fifth plague is darkness and pain so great they gnaw on their own tongues and this on those who are at the seat of the beast.
The sixth plague is over the river Euphrates- drying up the water of the river to prepare the way for kings coming out of the east. There will also be spirits like frog coming from the mouth of the dragon, the beast, and false prophet. Spirits working miracle going to the kings of the earth and the whole world to gather them up for the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
The seventh plague is put in the air, and creates voices, and thunder, and lightening, earthquakes. This plagues causes islands and mountains to disappear. Hail also will fall, huge hail.
So there you have it- the seven last plagues, now you can drink up that milk I just gave you and ask no questions, seek no further understanding. You can sum things up just like movies on television -
Plague 1- sores
Plague 2 - bloody sea
Plague 3- bloody fountains and rivers
Plague 4- burning sun
Plague 5- darkness and pain
Plague 6- river drying up
Plague 7- thunder, lightning, earthquake and hail.
But what do you know about those plagues? Do you really want to believe that you aren't supposed to know more about them? They are crouched in symbolism, in prophetic language and you can study deeply and you may find some answers, but you may find more questions. The study we're doing is a deeper study and it requires the desire to delve deeply into facts where you may have to go all over the Bible in order to piece things together. We are told this--
2Ti_2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Rightly DIVIDING the world of truth.
Luk_24:27  And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
Here, Jesus starts at the book of Moses and goes through all the books of the prophets and picks out all the scriptures that were about Him. Jesus did not simply go to one book and say - "Here is all you need to know of me."  Jesus expounded unto them ALL the scriptures about Himself! Such an amazing example from our Savior Himself. We need to study and often that means going to several books of the Bible, not just a single one.

Today I was told that everyone has their own interpretation of the Bible, basically that no one has the whole truth of the Bible as God intended, just everyone with lots of different truths taken in the ways they want to see them. Is this true? God said this--
2Pe 1:19  We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
2Pe 1:20  Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
2Pe 1:21  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

No private interpretation.  The Bible isn't something that we interpret privately. You take the entire Bible and LET it speak for itself! You let the Bible give you the meaning, you don't insert your own ideas. You let undeniable history that is set in factual accounts confirm prophecies.

This is truth-1Co 2:13  Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Heb 5:12  For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
Heb 5:13  For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14  But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

How can ANY of us be taught, if there are teachers with hundreds, thousands of different teachings for a single concept? If I went to one teacher and they told me the history of a war, and then another comes and tells me the history of the same war only totally differently, and yet another and another all of them with facts skewed to suit their own desires, am I getting the truth? No, I'd have no way of knowing the truth unless perhaps a majority ruled what was true, and even then how could I know?

God's word DOES not contradict itself. God's prophecies are not privately interpreted. The book of Daniel was SHUT up until the time of the end.  And suddenly in the 1800's various men around the world were able to comprehend the prophecy in connection with history's fulfillments. The book was OPENED. Yet, I'm supposed to believe that NO ONE has the truth? That it's every man for himself and whatever he wants to believe? How madly confusing that would be. God did not mean for His truth to be like the Tower of Babel- the place where He confounded mankind's languages separating people into those who would comprehend each other, but otherwise there was total confusion among the people. His word is not total confusing and it's not something to shrug off as if it doesn’t matter what we believe as long as we believe in Jesus. God's word, Jesus' word tells us to STUDY, we are told to WATCH and pray. We are given prophecies by JESUS Himself to what end if NO ONE is supposed to comprehend the truth of them, the reality of them? Jesus says this--

Luk 21:28  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

What things? The things HE'S prophesized! So if we can't know what we are looking to come to pass because there are several (hundred) different interpretations, then how can we look up, lift our heads knowing our redemption is nigh? How?

We need to use exegesis not eisegesis-

While exegesis is the process of drawing out the meaning from a text in accordance with the context and discoverable meaning of its author, eisegesis occurs when a reader imposes his or her interpretation into and onto the text.

We need to let the Bible speak for itself! Not put our own interpretations on it and if people think that it is all about people putting their own interpretations on things, then they will NEVER have truth, how can they?

Satan is the master of confusion and those who wish to remain blind, will. God allows people to be blind when they don’t want truth. No one can force another person to desire truth, to desire the light of God's word. We can only pray that they are willing to escape from the darkness into the light of God's truth before it's too late.  If I'm wrong, and my particular truth condemns me, I'll have no one to blame but myself for refusing light. Often I say, who's to say I'm right? I can only pray I'm in the truth in Christ.

Yes, I've gone off on my own extreme tangent here, but it needed to be said. In our study of the seven last plagues there is a lot to comprehend, so much that unless you are willing to study it you may sip the milk of a babe and pray you aren't meant to eat the meat God has out there to be eaten. The meat needs to be chewed and chewed and chewed thoroughly, not popped in your mouth and swallowed like above where I gave a simple numbered list on what the plagues are. That's what they are, but why are they what they are, how does it relate to us and others, why is there so much prophetic symbolism if we aren't supposed to chew and chew on this spiritual meat?

More tomorrow….

But first… (Elder Grotheer used Exegesis in all his Bible Studies, in all His thought papers. He wasn't a lay person with limited Biblical knowledge but a Bible Scholar who went to school to learn Biblical knowledge, and spent his entire adult life in the pursuit of truth. He had to give up cherished beliefs of an organization, a church he'd poured his heart and soul into. Was he perfect, not by a long shot, none of us are. Satan works harder than ever to attack those defending the truth using every single weakness they possess to damage them visibly and invisibly. He sinned, we all sinned, and continue to sin and we are all in need of forgiveness. Our sins don't mean our truth is any less the truth, but Satan would have it seem that way. Elder Grotheer sought truth as he fought his spiritual war, I seek truth as I fight my spiritual war, and YOU whoever you may be, are seeking truth as you fight your spiritual war. In our search for truth let us lay aside all our preconceived ideas and only search out truth. God guiding us always through the Holy Spirit!

'First, what is Biblical Exegesis anyway!?!? From <http://library.bu.edu/libraryresearchsth/writingexegesis>

Good question! Most simply put, exegesis is an exposition or an explanation of a text. You are assigned to present a critical interpretation of a passage from Scripture. The root of the word is from the Greek exÄ“geisthai to explain (via Merriam-Webster). Exegesis involves a process of examination by which one comes to understand a particular passage of the text. A passage from the Bible that captures a full event or narrative is called a pericope. Your professor’s specific instructions and your own research interests will of course dictate what pericope you choose to perform exegesis on or the specific materials needed for your work. You can always ask a librarian to assist you in finding the perfect resource, too!
First, you will want to explore the context of the passage. This involves imagining yourself as part of the story. What is the date? What is going on in history? What are the societal forces at work?
Second, you will dive into the text. Explore the word choice, grammar, and perceived intent of the author, and engage with others who have written on the subject before you.
Finally, analyze the text theologically. What do you believe is the point of the pericope you analyzed, and how do you apply it to your daily life?

After you have chosen a pericope from scripture (or one has been assigned to you by your Professor), the first goal is to explore the context of the passage. Read the text using several translations of the Bible, while noting variations (some of our selection is below, but do note we have many bible translations in many languages, including Greek and Hebrew), and scan your chosen passage for any hint of date, time, historical events, social roles of characters, key phrases, and important theological concepts (for example, in the story of Jesus's birth in the Gospel of Luke, Luke 2:2 mentions the census when "Quirinius was governor of Syria"). Think of all the interesting historical and cultural things of note here! Who was Quirinius? What was the Jewish people's reaction to the census? How did this exhibit the place of the Jewish people in that society? How does Luke use the Census to make a point in his story? How does this timeline of Jesus's birth compare to the other Gospels?
Bible dictionaries and encyclopedias are great ways to explore context.
Listed below is a couple of great bible dictionary and encyclopedia resources available at the School of Theology Library. Look around these call numbers for similar titles, and use bibliographies in what you find to extend your search! The School of Theology Library also has access to BibleWorks and Accordance, computer programs that are great for comparing translations, learning about the geography of areas in the bible, exploring and learning the original languages, and more!
Finally, search our library's online catalog. Biblical commentaries are usually listed under the subject heading "Bible. Criticism, interpretation, etc." It is usually better to search for the entire book your passage is from ("Bible Criticism Interpretation Luke" for the above example).

After exploring the context of the text, next up is to go line by line, verse by verse, through your pericope, exploring its terms, idioms, and structures. Read the passage as deliberately as possible, and highlight things that stand out to you, whether it be use of words, repetition, argument, or the like. Have dictionaries near by and consult them to discover the original meaning (for example, the meaning of New Testament Greek may have a slight nuance that is missing in English). Make note of words and start to formulate what you think the text is saying.
The School of Theology Library has many resources to consult during this process, including Interlinear Bibles (bibles that show the original language with an English translation below), concordances (an index that shows you where particular words show up in the Bible), and Commentaries.
Information on available Biblical Commentaries can be found on the left hand side of this guide. Remember, along with Interlinear Bibles and Concordances, we have access to BibleWorks and Accordance software inside the library!
Note, when searching the ATLA Religion Database, you can search by scripture citation as well, for find the perfect resource within the database for your paper!

The final step in writing exegesis is to sum up your findings of what the text is trying to say, and offer modern-day application.
Consult biblical commentaries like the ones on the left and books in our catalog to see what other scholars have said about your chosen pericope. Delve into essays by once again consulting journal articles and essays, like those in the ATLA Religion Database. Consult bibliographies in the dictionary and encyclopedia articles you consult. Search subject headings of books you find useful, or search the area around that call number in our open stacks.

Seven Angels Having the Seven Last Plagues.

(((Study from yesterday, I couldn't post it because we lost electricity))))

The following study is from an excerpt from Watchman What of the Night Aug 1995- my comments will be in parenthesis.  May God bless us all as we begin this in-depth study. All through Jesus Christ our LORD.
Please bear with the various tangents found in the study they are all part and parcel of this study on the plagues.

The Seven Last Plagues
[Excerpt from wwn8(95)]

In the pronouncement of the Third Angel a warning was given that if anyone worshiped the beast or his image, that one "shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God." (14:9-10)
Rev 14:9  And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
Rev 14:10  The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb

(((People will be given an opportunity to worship the beast and his image and receive the mark of the beast-- This mark WILL NOT be obvious to the majority of people. This mark is going to be hidden deep in deception just as the beast and the image of the beast are covered in lies that millions and millions and millions of people believe. This is going to be occurring in conjunction with the 'planting of his tabernacles' that we just study a few days ago. People are going to be receiving an invisible mark - sealing their eternal future- and human probation is over- our Savior is going to stand up and His interceding on our behalf ends. Then… the time of trouble such as never was, the seven last plagues will begin. It's all connected.))))

In the vision beginning with Chapter 15, this wrath is described as being the Seven Last Plagues. (v. 1)
Rev 15:1  And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.
The format for the giving of this vision is the same as was the format of Revelation 12 - a great wonder is seen in heaven - the screen upon which the divine revelation is portrayed. (The Greek word for "wonder" in Rev. 12:1, and "sign" in Rev. 15:1 is the same)
These plagues are defined as the seven last plagues.
The first reference to "plagues" in Revelation is in connection with the sixth trumpet. (9:20)   (((Not in connection with the seven last plagues))))
Rev 9:20  And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk
This would indicate that the fulfillment of the "trumpets" in the time sequence of the book of Revelation precedes the final wrath of God, and therefore, is NOT a parallel prophecy.
The second reference to "plagues" is noted in reference to the Two Witnesses which are given authority "to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will." (11:6)  (((Again, not the seven last plagues.)))
Rev 11:6  These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
*
It is interesting to note that in the Greek text, the word "wound" is used to translate the "plague" received by one of the heads of the beast of Revelation 13.
In verses 3 and 12, the phrase is "plague of death," while in verse 14, it is "the plague of the sword." These previous plagues as described under the sixth trumpet, and the wound received by the beast are ministered by EARTHLY forces, while the seven last plagues are directly ordered by God, and placed under SEVEN ANGELS who come from the Throne of God with their mandate. (15:5-6)
Rev 13:3  And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
Rev 13:12  And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
Rev 13:14  And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
Rev 15:5  And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:
Rev 15:6  And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

Verses 2 - 4 are interpolated like Rev. 16:15, and serve as an interlude as does Rev. 19:1-4.
(((Previous studies have revealed the facts stated here. If you are confused, please take the time to study further. If possible you can look back through my blogs/studies and find a full prophecy study- right now I'm trying to focus on the seven last plagues. What is being expressed here in this thought paper is what verses 2-4 are revealing. It is an interlude- a section that is like a pause to reiterate the glory and perfection of God.))))
In each of these interludes, we are taken back to the ORIGINAL vision given to John when "a door was opened in heaven" and John was instructed by "the first voice" to "Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter." (4:1)
He sees a throne "set in heaven" upon which sat the Eternal Majesty. Around the throne sat 24 elders, while before the throne were "seven torches of fire burning" declared to be "the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth,"
Page 2
representing the omnipotence (horns) and omnipresence (eyes) of the Lamb. (4:5; 5:6; Hab. 3:4; Zech. 4:10)
Rev 4:5  And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God
Rev 5:6  And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
Hab 3:4  And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power.
Zec 4:10  For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.
Also before the throne, there is "a sea of glass like unto crystal." (4:6) In the midst of the throne are four living creatures, and "a Lamb as it had been slain." (4:6; 5:6)
Rev 15:2  And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.
Rev 15:3  And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
Rev 15:4  Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

Rev 19:1  And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:
Rev 19:2  For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
Rev 19:3  And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
Rev 19:4  And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

Rev 4:1  After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
Rev 4:6  And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
Rev 5:6  And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.
The interlude of Revelation 15:2-4 returns to the setting of the vision of the open door with its sea of glass; but here it is "mingled with fire" rather than merely being "clear as crystal."
*
(Compare 4:6 with 15:2) Could the "fire" be symbolic of the means by which the ones standing on the sea of glass were victorious over the beast and his image and purified so as to be fitted to be in the presence of God? (See Mal. 3:2-3; Luke 3:16)
Mal 3:2  But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:
Mal 3:3  And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

Luk 3:16  John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire
*
There are some parallels between this vision and the vision of Rev. 14:1-5, as well as some distinct differences. Here it is stated that those who stand on the sea of glass are victors "over the beast and over his image," while such a conclusion concerning the 144,000 on Mount Sion can only be inferred. The 144,000 sing an unique song, while those standing on the sea of glass sing the song of Moses and the Lamb, the words of which are given.
Another question arises, how far back in time must we go to find victors over the beast?
Is the "beast" only that phase of the beast which had a wound by the sword and did live?
That is the emphasis used in previous identification of the beast in connection with "his image." (13:12, 14)

However, the beast has "seven heads" which, depending on the interpretation given to the seven heads, could reach back to Egypt, the first power to "persecute" the corporate people of God. Of interest in this connection, "the song of Moses" is introduced. All of these factors must be programmed into any exegetical study of these verses.
After recording this interlude, John's attention is returned to the "seven angels having the seven last plagues." He sees the open temple - "the tabernacle of the testimony" - from which these angels are to come. This is none other than the Most Holy Place of the Heavenly Sanctuary wherein is the ark of the covenant with the Law of God. John has seen this tabernacle before as the vision of the trumpets was concluded. (11:19)
Rev 11:19  And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Another parallel between these two revelations is that God in Chapter 11 is declared to have taken His "great power, and has reigned," while in Chapter 15, "the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from His great power." This assumption on the part of God brings forth His wrath in judgment, and no "man" is able to "enter the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled. (15:8) Intercession has ceased, for there is but "One mediator between God and men, the Man, Christ Jesus." (I Tim. 2:5)
Rev 15:8  And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.
1Ti 2:5  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus
(((Note again- INTERCESSION HAS CEASED. When Christ stands up…His work of intercession is over. We have to realize it is going to END. You no longer need to intercede on someone's behalf once their case is decided, right? A lawyer, an advocate, doesn't continue to work for someone once their sentence is passed and there are no appeals allowed.  We will not be allowed any appeals once our Savior makes His determination- deciding to forgive those who sincerely seek His forgiveness and salvation through HIM and HIM only.  When that temple is filled with smoke and no "MAN" is able to enter the temple until the seven plagues are fulfilled- Not even Jesus will be allowed in the temple at that time- He is a MAN. Just as we read above in First Timothy- … the MAN Christ Jesus.  No more intercession for us and the plagues begin. By the GRACE of God we will be SAVED and the plagues will NOT touch us!))))
Next John hears a voice described as "a great voice out of the temple." (16:1)
Rev 16:1  And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
It is a mandate from the throne. (See 16:17)
Rev 16:17  And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.
To the seven angels, the command is given - "Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth."
Little have we realized what the mercy of God has been, and what the wrath of God against sin is.
We have tried to reconcile the God of the Old Testament with how we perceive the God of the New Testament. In our finite perceptions we have not realized the hatred God has toward sin, nor the significance of the separation that took place when on the cross, Christ became verily sin for us, nor the full significance of the fact that "in the midst of the throne" has "stood a Lamb as it had been slain." (5:6) But when that Lamb steps aside and when no longer His blood pleads for the sinful race, and the wrath of God unmixed falls upon the unsheltered heads of the devotees of the beast and his image, then will all know that the Eternal God is the same God as is revealed in both the Old and New Testaments.
(((When we read the Old Testament and realize how much God allows- the wars, the killings of men, women, and children, we read of the plagues sent to Egypt before Moses was allowed to guide God's people away from there. We read of the flood and how God allowed all but eight people to be destroyed. We read of Sodom and Gomorrah and know that only Lot and His two daughters were spared the wrath of God. People have brought this up before how much God allows and approves of in the Old Testament that seemingly isn't allowed at all in the New Testament. The God of the Old Testament scarcely seems like the God of the New Testament but they are one and the same. And Jesus, as God with God in the beginning and through it all- the flood, Egypt, Sodom and Gomorrah, all the way until His birth as a human child was there with God the declared Father. They were there together through it all and yet people want to pretend that Jesus didn't exist until He was born human. That Jesus instilled compassion in God the Father, but that is not true at all. The wrath of God is still in existence and people will know that sin has never been acceptable, never, it can't be!))))
More tomorrow by the GRACE of our LORD and SAVIOR, through His love always!!!!   Now and forever!!!!!!!

Seven Last Plagues.

Today we're going to delve into the seven last plagues.
Realizing that by the time the plagues begin everyone  has their eternal outcome decided is something I don't think people really comprehend. We have various fictional movies and books that portray the seven last plagues as being something that can be stopped, that they are something that will decide your eternal life, that you can avoid them and choose God when you are suffering the effects of the plagues. Satan has woven his web of deceit expertly, all deceivers stem from the greatest of deceivers. Satan would have us believe the lies that are fed to us through his fictional tales. Satan feeds these lies through figures that are respected religious leaders in the mainstream communities. People can truly be deceived by the words that soothe them, that are pleasing to their ears, that make them feel good, but those words that are sugar-coated with truth hiding the inside evil, the deadly, eternal poison they never suspect is there. Most people who are poisoned by someone are poisoned without their knowing it's happened. Some poisons are slow acting and take a long while, others are instant. People don't seem to realize that Satan loves to use his own poison and this poison is what is going to have many people being told by Christ Jesus, that He doesn't know them, to get away from Him. They THINK, they are SURE, they are POSITIVE that they know Jesus! They are convinced beyond any doubt that Jesus knows them! They do many, many things in Jesus' name, things that in their minds can only be through the power of the Lord, but they are wrong! They are deceived by Satan.  We need truth and only the truth, not sugar-coated falsehoods.  With this in mind, let's read the following excerpt and tomorrow, by the will of the Lord, through HIS grace, we will study it in much more depth.   All through the love of our LORD, JESUS CHRIST, now and forever!!!!!!!

The Seven Last Plagues
(Part 4)

The second reference to "plagues" is noted in reference to the Two Witnesses which are given authority "to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will." (11:6)
Rev 11:6  These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
It is interesting to note that in the Greek text, the word "wound" is used to translate the "plague" received by one of the heads of the beast of Revelation 13.
In verses 3 and 12, the phrase is "plague of death," while in verse 14, it is "the plague of the sword." These previous plagues as described under the sixth trumpet, and the wound received by the beast are ministered by EARTHLY forces, while the seven last are directly ordered by God, and placed under seven angels who come from the Throne of God with their mandate.

19:1-4. In each of these interludes, we are taken back to the ORIGINAL vision given to John when "a door was opened in heaven" and John was instructed by "the first voice" to "Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter." (4:1) He sees a throne "set in heaven" upon which sat the Eternal Majesty.
3:4; Zech. 4:10) Also before the throne, there is "a sea of glass like unto crystal." (4:6) In the midst of the throne are four living creatures, and "a Lamb as it had been slain." (4:6; 5:6)
The interlude of Revelation 15:2-4 returns to the setting of the vision of the open door with its sea of glass; but here it is "mingled with fire" rather than merely being "clear as crystal."
(Compare 4:6 with 15:2) Could the "fire" be symbolic of the means by which the ones standing on the sea of glass were victorious over the beast and his image and purified so as to be fitted to be in the presence of God? (See Mal. 3:2-3; Luke 3:16)
That is the emphasis used in previous identification of the beast in connection with "his image." (13:12, 14) However, the beast has "seven heads" which, depending on the interpretation given to the seven heads, could reach back to Egypt, the first power to "persecute" the corporate people of God.
Next John hears a voice described as "a great voice out of the temple." (16:1) It is a mandate from the throne. (See 16:17) To the seven angels, the command is given - "Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth." Little have we realized what the mercy of God has been, and what the wrath of God against sin is.
In noting the plagues, it becomes obvious that no plague falls without a reason.
"The curse causeless shall not come." (Prov. 26:2)
The warning was given to the final generation that to "worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark" meant only one thing, the unmixed wrath of God. (14:9-10)
To those who received this mark, the first angel directs his plague. "A foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image." (16:2, NKJV) If the symbols as given in these chapters are to be consistently interpreted, the image was created and worshiped by those "who dwell on the earth" meaning the place from whence the second beast arose. (13:11-12)
The second plague is more difficult of interpretation than would first appear. (16:3) Is it the literal oceans that are here meant, or is "the sea" to be understood as the place where arose the first beast? (12:12; 13:1)
It is singular in number. If "the sea" is to be symbolically understood, what does the clause - "every living soul died in the sea" - mean? The explanation given by "the angel of the waters" as to why this plague is poured out states "they have shed the blood of saints and prophets." Who are the
Page 3
"they"? The only plural antecedent would be the collective, "sea," "rivers and fountains of waters."
The third plague is the one plague of the seven which is repeated. (16:4) It is directed against the sources of the sea - "rivers and fountains of waters." However, it does not state that "every living soul" in the "rivers and fountains" dies; but the pronouncement of the angel of the waters covers both plagues. The first beast makes "war with the saints." (13:7) It could be assumed that blood was spilt. The "image to the beast" issues a death decree but no where is it indicated it was carried out. (13:15) The intent is clear, there would be bloodshed. However, similar language as used by the angel of the waters, "blood of saints and prophets," is used to describe the "woman" of Revelation 17. (See verse 6) Can it be that the same principle enunciated by Jesus for the generation which crucified Him, will apply to the generation which issues the "death decree" against "the remnant" of the woman's seed? (See Matt. 23:34-36)
Since the death decree is issued not by the beast that came up out of the "sea," but rather by "his image," and since the "beast" did shed much innocent blood during the Dark Ages, does the doubling of the plague of blood to drink, give an indication as to when the "death decree" will be issued? If this indication is correct, the "decree" comes after the close of human probation. Further, from this point on in the detailing of the plagues, the wording used by John becomes more reflective of that which is to be revealed than with that which had been previously revealed. Confirming this assumption is the fact that one of the seven angels of the seven last plagues becomes John's instructor following the vision of the plagues. (See 17:1; 21:9)
The fourth angel poured out his vial "upon the sun." (16:8) The sun has been the object of worship from ancient times in most if not all pagan religions. The Bible recognizes such worship as a denial of the God of heaven. Job declared that "if I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness; and my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand: this also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge; for I should have denied the God that is above." (Job 31:26-28) Transferred into professed Christian religions through Romeare numerous elements of pagan sun worship. The birthday of the sun-god Mithra, December 25, is now the celebrated birthday of Jesus. Easter sunrise services are but echoing the pagan ritual of greeting the sunrise with an act of worship. Then weekly, the Christian world, for the most part, worships on the Day of the Sun. Significant, then is the inclusion in the "everlasting gospel" (14:6) of the call to "worship Him that made heaven and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." (v. 7) God's designated day of worship as the Creator is the Sabbath. (Ex. 20:8-11) The "beast's" designated day is the Day of the Sun.
Keenan in his catechism asks the question, "Have you any other way of proving that the [Roman] Church has power to institute festivals of precept?" Then he answers - "Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; - she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of the Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority." (Doctrinal Catechism, p. 174)
The fifth angel pours out his vial "upon the seat of the beast." (16:10) If the "sea" in the second plague does represent the area from which the "beast" arose, and as a result of the plague, every living soul died in the sea," this "seat" could not be Rome, its original seat. The prophecy in Daniel does cast some light on this problem. There a power "shall plant the tabernacle of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain" (Dan. 11:45) which is Jerusalem. This fact is further emphasized in the sixth plague.
Resultant from the plague, "the (beast's) kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain." This is an interesting use of words, "darkness" associated with the "tongue." The victorious 144,000 do not have in their mouth "a deceitful tongue." (Zeph. 3:13; Rev. 14:5) Spiritual darkness comes from deception and the corruption of the Word, for the entrance of the Word giveth light. (Ps. 119:130) This plague strikes the seat of the beast from whence came spiritual "darkness" during probationary time. Now the medium - the tongue - by which that darkness was conveyed is plagued with pain. The next plague - the sixth - is poured upon "the great river Euphrates." (16:12) What is this plague? It is something which dries up the waters of the river, and the drying is for a purpose - "that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared." Each plague, except for the third, is directed toward what man did in probationary time. For example, the first plague came upon those "which had the mark of the
Page 4
beast and upon them which worshipped his image" activity during probationary time. The description of this activity which brings the sixth plague follows in verses 13-14, 16, verse 15 being parenthetical.
To understand the import of what took place during the last remnant of time, one must understand the imagery of the sixth plague - the river Euphrates, and its waters. Significantly, one of the angels of the seven last plagues tells John - "Come hither, I will shew thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters." (17:1) Yet, when John is shown the judgment on this woman, he sees her sitting upon a scarlet colored beast. (17:3) Further, he is told that "the waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues." (17:15) The only vision, previous to the explanation of the "whore" where John could have seen her on "many waters", is during the vision of the seven last plagues. This whore is "Mystery Babylon the Great" (17:5) the great antitype of ancient Babylon which sat on the River Euphrates.
Even as literal Babylon was situated on the Euphrates, so where this antitypical Babylon will be situated is also revealed. In the explanation as to why this plague is given, we are informed that the "spirits of devils" gather the leadership of "the whole world" to a place called in the Hebrew tongue, "Harmagedon." (16:16) The Hebrew word, Har-mo'ed, means the Mount of the Congregation or Jerusalem. (See Isa. 14:13; Ps. 48:2) There is also another connection of thought in regard to Babylon and Jerusalem. This woman whom John saw on the river Euphratesis called "that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth." (17:18) This "great city" is described elsewhere as the city "which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified." (11:8)
The conclave at the Mount of the Congregation is religious in nature, motivated by the spirits of devils emanating from the dragon, beast, and false prophet. (16:13) They gather together for "the war (Gr. polemos) of the great day of God Almighty." (16:14) In the explanation given concerning the "whore" it states that these powers "make war with the Lamb." (17:14)
The plague itself is something which dries up the river, in other words, the support of the people and multitudes. What could cause those who once supported the woman to turn upon her? (17:16) The seventh plague involves a great earthquake and hail. (16:18, 21) Another scripture indicates that, just prior to the earthquake and hail, the temple of God is opened in heaven and "there was seen in His temple the ark of His covenant" which contains the Law of God. (11:19) Paul writes, "The Law worketh wrath." (Rom. 4:15) Coming from the darkness of the fifth plague, what greater revelation could arrest the attention of the inhabitants of the earth than the meaning of the Law of God in all of its reality? Sensing their deception, and the eternal loss involved, where would the rage of those who have lost all in the battle of life be vented?
The purpose of this plague is to prepare the way for "the kings of the east." (16:12) Again the "type" needs to be invoked. Cyrus, who overthrew Babylon came from the "east" and with him were other kings. (Dan. 5:31) Cyrus is pictured in prophecy as the Liberator of the captive people of God. (Isa. 44:28-45:4) When Christ comes the second time, He comes as "King of kings and Lord of lords" to set the captives free. (Rev. 19:11-16; Phil. 3:20-21)
When the seventh angel pours out his vial into the air, "a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the Throne" declares - "It is done." A series of events involving the earth are pictured to John as following this declaration from the Throne. A great earthquake, Babylon divided into three parts, the "cities of the nations" fall, "every island fled away, and the mountains were not found." A judgment call must again be made. Are these literal happenings, or is symbolic prophetic language still being used? It is obvious from context that "Babylon" is a symbolic term and is applied to the "harlot." (17:18). Then are the "cities of the nations" the national units of the great international city? Does the symbolism stop here, and the "islands" and "mountains" are to be understood literally?
The seventh plague itself is described as hail, every stone being "about the weight of a talent." (16:21) It is said to be "exceeding great." This can be understood only as literal language. While men "blasphemed God," those who have been looking at the transgression of earth's inhabitants from heaven's perspective declare, "Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments." (16:7)
The first section of the book of Revelation closes with similar language as is found in this 16th Chapter. Under the seventh angel of the Trumpets, and the Third Woe are described events when God takes unto Himself, His great power and reigns. (11:15-19) These must be considered as parallel with the time of the seven last plagues.

We Need to Know.

Dan 11:40  And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

Dan 11:40  And at the time of the end ….
shall the king of the south…
push at him:
and the king of the north …
shall come against him like a whirlwind
with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships
and he shall enter into the countries,
and shall overflow and pass over.

Prophetic king- a ruler whether it is king, pharaoh, prime minister, president, queen, prince, etc.
Prophetic push- any contrary action- physical or verbal warring in any way, hardships given.
Prophetic come up against- once more this is strong contrary actions being used.
Prophetic whirlwind- fast, quick.
Prophetic chariots, horsemen, ships- means of warring.
Prophetic countries- territories of others.
Prophetic overflow and pass over- influences infiltrating other territories not ruled already.

Dan 11:41  He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

The glorious land-  Jerusalem.
Edom, Moab, Ammon- today's Jordan.

He is aligned against by others and yet he enters Jerusalem, only Jordan will keep from his influence.

Dan 11:42  He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
Dan 11:43  But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

He will reach out and Egypt will be under his influence so much so the financial wealth of Egypt will be used by him. Not only Egypt will be right there with him, but Libya and Ethiopia as well.

Dan 11:44  But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.

Tidings from Israel, France, China and Syria, Germany, Russia are going to upset him.
He is going to go forth extremely angry wanting to destroy and ban many.

I said Israel, France, China as if they are considered EAST and they all could be in some respects, as well as Syria, Germany, and Russia the NORTH in some respects in relation to the Rome based political/religious power.

Now, I read that and I can't figure it out. I'm not meant to figure it out? It will unfold in time, yet we must watch this prophecy because it is the prelude to the very end.

I know many don't agree with me and they don't have to, but in all my deep studying over the years I can't deny what I've been led to see, to understand as truth. Please, if you don't like what I have to say about this just stop reading and create your own study. NO ONE is being forced to read this. I don't have some great following that is influenced by my studies. This is just something I've been led to write over the last ten years by my God, through the Holy Spirit. Is everything I say right? I have NO WAY of knowing. Sometimes we are led to the truth by a very long and winding, twisted road and we are forced to give up things we believe because we are given new light. I'm talking about myself here, not just others. If you don't believe what I write, and want to dispute what I'm saying, I won't argue with you. I'm not a debater, I'm not confrontational, I won't fight anyone over what I write here.

Having said all that I'll continue now… by the grace of God.

A prelude to the end when the king here - the him, the he we've been talking about- goes forth …. Now, we KNOW that the warring of Daniel's time isn't like it is today. The HE doesn’t even have an army. The HE has a powerful force in His influence. He has been an intellectual force in the political field in a huge way. Politically you can express your ire at things and it truly can affect many aspects of other's lives. When people hold you in high regard what you do matters quite a bit.

Right now, Syria and Israel have been in the news a lot, as well as France, Germany, Russia, and China, they’ve all been in the news.  Is it possible this political/religious force is using his/it's influence here? Is this power, this king, this political/religious entity upset at these countries? Is there an spiritual fury here at play right now?  Does this power have a foot in Egypt in many ways, yes. IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING NOW in ways other than how we might imagine it should happen? I have to ask, I have to.

We are told to watch, to pray and I'm doing both by the grace of God! Because once this power comes to its end… our SAVIOR is going to stand up and probation will be over. Once this political/religious force no longer has any real influential power though it makes a last stand in Jerusalem, then our Lord will stand up, and we are going to experience trouble such as never seen before- the seven last plagues will be loosed and it will be horrific for so many. Only by the GRACE and MERCY of our forgiving LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST will we be able to live, in HIM under the Holy Spirit's protection. And once that time of trouble is over our LORD IS COMING TO TAKE US WITH HIM TO HEAVEN, US AND ALL THE DEAD IN CHRIST ARE GOING TO RISE UP TOO. WE WILL ALL BE EXPERIENCE SALVATION THROUGH OUR SAVIOR! GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST, HALLILUJAH TO OUR LORD AND KING NOW AND FOREVER!

This, this is why we need to watch, to know, to pray, to comprehend all we are able to comprehend.

All through our LORD now and forever and ever!!!!!!!

Dan 11:45  And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
Dan 12:1  And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
Dan 12:2  And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

The End.

At the time of the end…

Dan_8:17  …O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.

Dan_8:19 … for at the time appointed the end shall be.

Dan_11:27  …for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.

Dan_11:35 …even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

Dan_11:40  And at the time of the end…

Dan_12:4  But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end….

Mat_13:39  The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world….
Mat_13:40 ….so shall it be in the end of this world.

Mat_13:49  So shall it be at the end of the world…

Mat_24:3 …and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

Mat_24:6 …but the end is not yet.

Mat_24:13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Mat_24:14  …and then shall the end come.

Mat_28:20  … even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mar_13:7  …but the end shall not be yet.

Mar_13:13  …ut he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Luk_21:9  …but the end is not by and by.

1Co_15:24  Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

1Pe_1:9  Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

1Pe_4:7  But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

1Pe_4:17  For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

Rev_2:26  And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations

Rev_21:6  And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Rev_22:13  I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

At the time of the end…. The end of the world… To the end…

There wasn't always going to be an end of the world. When sin entered the world the need came for this world to end because it was handed over to Satan.

So many verses, so much knowledge that the END would occur and we need to comprehend this fact, and live with this knowledge as a reality.

THERE WILL BE A TIME WHEN PEOPLE WILL BE ALIVE AS EVERY LAST PROPHECY UNFOLDS.

Let's look at the following yet again--

Let me emphasize right now.. I'M NOT A BIBLICAL SCHOLAR in any way shape or form, my speculations are merely that and nothing more. Could I be way off the mark, by the grace of God I hope not, but the possibility exists.

Throughout this prophecy in Daniel 11 the interpretations are like the following--  please take the time to read this wordy bit (a lot of these studies are wordy but hey, it is what it is)….  Go to the link after this excerpt to find out where this comes from etc., please.

Daniel 11

p 247 -- VERSE 1. Also I in the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him.    2.     And now will I show thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.

We now enter upon a prophecy of future events, clothed not in figures and symbols, as in the visions of chapters 2, 7, and 8, but given mostly in plain language. Many of the signal events of the world's history, from the days of Daniel to the end of the world, are here brought to view. This prophecy, says Bishop Newton, may not improperly be said to be a comment and explanation of the vision of chapter 8; a statement showing how clearly he perceived the connection between that vision and the remainder of the book.

The angel, after stating that he stood, in the first year of Darius, to confirm and strengthen him, turns his attention to the future. Three kings shall yet stand up in Persia. To stand up means to reign; three kings were to reign in Persia, referring, doubtless, to the immediate successors of Cyrus.
p 248 -- These were,    (1)     Cambyses, son of Cyrus;    (2)     Smerdis, an impostor;    (3)    Darius Hystaspes.

The fourth shall be far richer than they all. The fourth king from Cyrus was Xerxes, more famous for his riches than his generalship, and conspicuous in history for the magnificent campaign he organized against Grecia, and his utter failure in that enterprise. He was to stir up all against the realm of Grecia. Never before had there been such a levy of men for warlike purposes; never has there been since. His army, according to Herodotus, who lived in that age, consisted of five million two hundred and eighty-three thousand two hundred and twenty men (5,283,220). And not content with stirring up the East alone, he enlisted the Carthaginians of the West in his service, who took the field with an additional army of three hundred thousand men, raising his entire force to the almost fabulous number of over five million and a half. As Xerxes looked over that vast concourse, he is said to have wept at the thought that in a hundred years from that time not one of all those men would be left alive.

VERSE 3. And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will.    4.     And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.

The facts stated in these verses plainly point to Alexander, and the division of his empire. (See on chapter 8:8.) Xerxes was the last Persian king who invaded Grecia; and the prophecy passes over the nine successors of Xerxes in the Persian empire, and next introduces Alexander the Great. Having overthrown the Persian empire, Alexander "became absolate lord of that empire, in the utmost extent in which it was ever possessed by any of the Persian kings." - Prideaux, Vol. 1, p. 477. His dominion was great, including "the greater portion of the then known habitable world;" and he did according to his will. His will led him, B.C. 323, into a drunken debauch, as the result of which he died as the fool dieth; and his vainglorious and ambitious projects went into
p 249 -- sudden, total, and everlasting eclipse. The kingdom was divided, but not for his posterity; it was plucked up for others besides those. Within a few years after his death, all his posterity had fallen victims to the jealousy and ambition of his leading generals. Not one of the race of Alexander was left to breathe upon the earth. So short is the transit from the highest pinnacle of earthly glory to the lowest depths of oblivion and death. The kingdom was rent into four divisions, and taken possession of by Alexander's four ablest, or perhaps most ambitious and unprincipled generals, - Cassander, Lysimachus, Seleucus, and Ptolemy.

So there we have a snippet of prophecy and its fulfilment in history.

Daniel 11:3- starts out with Alexander the Great in prophecy.

With this in mind it seems as though all the various figures mentioned throughout the entire 11th chapter should have names, yes? So if Alexander the Great is a 'mighty king' then in verse 40…

Dan 11:40  And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

…the king of the south should have a name, right? And the king of the north? And we would have to know the HIM too.

Well, a careful analysis of far greater minds than mine have determined who the 'him' is, but not who that king of the south and north are.  This is prophecy unfilled, or maybe fulfilled without our comprehension.

More on ALL this tomorrow by the GRACE OF THE LORD, through HIS WILL now and forever!!!!!!!
