Psa 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Job 28:28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Joh 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.
Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
We are told. We are given instruction. Will we follow?
Seriously, will we follow the instructions we are given? It's a choice we have to make, all of us. There are NO exemptions. Not ONE person will be excused from making the choice. When a person is given instructions and they refuse to follow them what hope do they have of accomplishing the task set before them? None.
We are told to fear the Lord… that is wisdom.
We are told that we should depart from evil and that is understanding.
Do we fear the Lord?
Do we depart from evil?
Do we do HIS commandments?
If we have a good understanding then we do his commandments.
Is it any wonder at all why so many will be tragically lost, why so many will lose life eternal? We are given the ability to follow instructions and if we choose not to that is on us, and no one else.
Please Lord, please help us to understand, please help us to follow Your commandments, help us to depart from evil. Without you we are powerless, without you we are completely without hope. Please Lord bless us, keep us from evil so much of it surrounds us.
