The Old and New Testaments - God's Witnesses

Bearing witness.  Have you ever been a witness? Everyone has, to something or other, right? We've witnessed a lot of things.  When we are witness to crimes we are sometimes called to bear witness in a legal setting on a stand in court. Bearing witness to something is being a witness. If you witness for your faith you are telling others of your faith. The TWO witnesses - God's WORD the OLD (ONE) and the NEW (TWO) Testaments are the BEST, the TRUEST, the PUREST witnesses of God there could ever be!

How do you hurt the word of God?

We are to live by--  Luk_4:4  And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
-- every word of God.

We are BLESSED by the  word of God, if we KEEP the word of God.
Luk_11:28  But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

WE can receive the word of God.  The word of God can grow and multiple.

Act_11:1  And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

Act_12:24  But the word of God grew and multiplied.

FAITH comes by the word of God- HEARING the word of God.

Rom_10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Born again by the WORD of God.

1Pe_1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

The heavens and the earth- by the word of God are kept!

2Pe_3:5  For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water
2Pe 3:6  Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
2Pe 3:7  But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

The word of God! The power in the word of God is so immense we can scarcely fathom it at all!

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2  The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Joh 1:6  There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
Joh 1:7  The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
Joh 1:8  He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
Joh 1:9  That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Joh 1:10  He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Joh 1:11  He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
Joh 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:13  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Joh 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

When we hurt our Savior, when we hurt our God, we are hurting the word of God.  We are hurting the witnesses.

******* Continuing our prophecy study--  Please GO back and READ the study from the beginning to gain full understanding of where we are if you haven't been following this study daily.  Thank you :)  We are on lesson number 88. God bless you! ******

Rev 11:5  And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed

Does God use fire to destroy unrepentant sinners?

Gen 19:24  Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven

Yes.

Will God use fire to destroy unrepentant sinners?

Rev 21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Yes, God will use fire to destroy unrepentant sinners.

The Word of God is truth.

Is God hurt by our sins? Seriously, do our sins grieve God?

Luk 19:40  And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
Luk 19:41  And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
Luk 19:42  Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.

Jesus wept.

Fact or fiction?

Most unfortunately believe it's all fiction, but it is fact, praise God.

Our Lord and Savior will return and though His heart breaks for those who will be lost, they will be lost, and in the very, very end they will be burned to ash, to nothing.

Those who hurt the Word of God, those who disobey the Word of God, those who do not heed His commandments, those who do not believe in His gospel of the kingdom- they will be destroyed unless they repent! And many, very sadly will NOT repent. Many will be lost and so many do not believe this is true. It is true that those who hurt God's two witnesses will be destroyed by fire as the word of God has promised. The witnesses have given their testimony and by that testimony  - by the word of the mouth of those witnesses, people- many people will be destroyed because they believe not and they live against those witnesses of God's love and truth, they hurt the love and truth of God. We can't escape this on our own, only through our Savior's mercy and grace can we live in hope of eternal life in His kingdom with Him, through His righteousness. We cannot shun the word of God, we cannot shun the witnesses He has left with us, we cannot hurt the Word of God and yet so many do.

Please God, please keep us in You and Your truth now and always! In Your love!

Amen.
