The Goodness of God- We should not despise.

The goodness of God leads us to repentance.
God forbears with us.
God is longsuffering towards us.

What do we do, we despise the riches of His goodness.

We beg for more. We plead for so much because we believe that so much will make us happy, make us satisfied, make us content. We claim we just want the bare minimum of necessities but when that is what we get we still despise the goodness of God, why?  Because the goodness of God leads us to repentance, not to any creature comforts, not to even necessities for this life if they would lead us from God. As bizarre as it may seem, some people are stripped of everything so they can be given the one thing that means more than anything at all- Jesus Christ our Lord and His love and all that is entailed in His amazing, unfathomable love. Still, others are given so much because that is what it will take for them to be led to our Lord. We don't know what, we don't know why, we can only TRUST. We have to believe that God's wisdom which is past our finding out, is such that no matter our LOT in life, He will lead us in the way we need to go. Help us BELIEVE, LORD, help us believe!

Rom 11:33  O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Rom 11:34  For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
Rom 11:35  Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
Rom 11:36  For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

Rom 2:4  Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Eph 3:16  That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man

Col 2:2  That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
Col 2:3  In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Col 2:4  And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.
