Heb 1:1 God, who at
sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the
prophets,
Heb 1:2 Hath in
these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all
things, by whom also he made the worlds
God the Father spoke
in times past to people by the prophets. God used prophets- giving them the
words to speak that He wanted them to hear.
However, while still using prophets, God also spoke to the people by HIS
SON in the recent history of Paul. God appointed His Son HEIR of ALL things,
for it was the appointed heir who made the worlds with Him.
Think about this for
a few moments- God- before Jesus became flesh and was called the Son of God,
was with Him at the very beginning making the worlds! Jesus in the flesh was
appointed heir of all things- He would inherit everything. The God who was with
God - both in spirit - creating the worlds, would become God in the flesh-
declared the Son of God, heir of all things.
Heb 1:3 Who being
the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding
all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins,
sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Jesus- embodied the
BRIGHTNESS of the glory of God the Father.
Jesus- was the
express IMAGE of His God the Father's person.
Jesus- upheld all
things by the Word of the Father God's Power.
Jesus- by himself
purge our sins. Jesus could do nothing without the Father God, and the Father
God gave consent to the plan of salvation- however the Father God did not, and
could not die in the flesh upon the cross- only the declared Son of God could.
Jesus- sat down at
the right hand of God the Father in heaven- after He allowed Himself to be
crucified in order to save mankind. They were reunited in Heaven, the Father
God with God in the flesh, the two at the beginning, the two in creation, the
two throughout all - from everlasting to everlasting.
Heb 1:4
Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a
more excellent name than they.
Jesus- was made better than the angels.
Jesus- inherited a more excellent name than the
angels.
Heb 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any
time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to
him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
God never said to the angels- thou art my Son,
this day have I begotten thee, I will be to him a Father and he shall be to me
a Son. God with God - Psa 110:1 A Psalm of David.
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine
enemies thy footstool.
Mat 22:42
Saying, What think ye of Christ? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of
David.
Mat 22:43 He
saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,
Mat 22:44 The
LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies
thy footstool?
Mat 22:45 If
David then call him Lord, how is he his son?
God declared the
Son, LORD said to Lord.
Psa_2:7 I will
declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have
I begotten thee.
A decree was made.
Just an off the wall
thought- if I have a son, I have no need to declare a decree that he is my son-
he IS my son. If I adopt- take one that
isn't my son- I would have to declare a decree that he is my son, right? It's
more understandable isn't it? I'm not saying God adopted Jesus, not in the
sense we know it, but God with God and one declares the decree that one is
their Son, the Son is now begotten. In
adoption though- one does become a son by that decree, yes? Before adoption
that child is another couple's son.
Before the declared decree -God was with God. It truly is a lot to think
about, or leave to the mysteries of God that we are not able to yet comprehend,
the secret things that belong to Him.
