Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God
Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Col 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
Eph 3:9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ
Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Jesus KNOWS us. You can't hide what you are at heart from Jesus, you just can't! Lie to yourself, but you cannot lie to JESUS! He knows the thoughts of every one of us. He knows OUR actions. He knows whether we are hot or cold, and He wants us to be one or the other, but NOT lukewarm! Not a proclaimed Christ follower who has no real heart for Christ's truth at all. Not a proclaimed Christian who mouths the words that sound good to the ears but want nothing to do with the hard truths of His word. Lukewarm. These are going to be those who when He comes He's going tell them that He doesn't know them and they are going to be shocked. Did you read that? Here, read it from HIS own words-
Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
MANY are going to cry out to Jesus and tell Him how they lived for Him but He's going to tell them He NEVER knew them! If this doesn't wake you up I don't know what will. These people He DOESN'T know are doing many things in His name, using His name without any true love for Him. Lukewarm- not hot for Him, not cold for Him, but professors of knowing Him without His knowing them at all. LUKEWARM.
Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked
They believe they are rich in all they need to be Christ's and need nothing more. They don't know they are wretched, they don't know they are miserable, poor, blind and naked. They just don't see it, they've covered themselves in delusions of Christ's riches so that they think they are far from being miserable, poor, blind and naked.
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Jesus wants them to get from Him FAITH - gold tried in fires. Jesus wants them to get from Him RIGHTEOUSNESS- the purity of being washed in the blood and made white as snow. Jesus wants them to get from Him SPIRITUAL SIGHT - eyes opened to His truth, all of His truth without exception!
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Be rebuked! Be Chastened! REPENT! Christ loves us!
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
He stands there before us wanting to come into our lives with His truths. If we hear Him we must open our lives to Him, our entire lives not just a tiny portion. The door must be opened wide, all the way, as far as it can be opened, and we must step back from that door and let Christ inside us so He can sup with us, and us with Him! He must come into our lives and live there with us partaking of our lives and we with Him.
Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Rev 3:22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
To overcome the lukewarm-ness that threatens to destroy so many mean we will be allowed to sit with Jesus in His throne! He overcame and sat down in His Father's throne.
LET US HEAR! LET US LISTEN TO THE SPIRIT SPEAKING TO US RIGHT NOW!
