Created in His Image

Yesterday we read an excerpt, a LONG excerpt but worth the read if you truly, truly comprehend the hour we are living in.

The world and its attractions pull at us, wanting us to join it.  Truly like the Pinocchio story where the wooden boy who would be a real boy is pulled into the tempting world of debauchery  and goes astray we are all being pulled into that world. We are like the wooden boy wanting to be a real boy. We are shells of what we were intended to be and we know it. Every pain we feel, physical or emotional, mental or not any pain whatsoever is a stark reminder that we are NOT as we should be!   We are sinful creatures, in dying flesh. We were not meant to be these wooden boys, we were meant to be real! We can only be real in our SAVIOR!

The world would have us. Every single solitary day we are going to be pulled towards the world. There will not be a single day we aren't faced with temptations, they are everywhere we turn. Just when you think you might have it a bit easy, think again because Satan loves to lull us into sins. When he lulls us into sins making them seem sinless we are lost. We must face the truth, there must be NO guile in us! No fooling ourselves! By the grace of God, He and He alone can keep us in HIM.

So if you're reading this and you haven't read yesterday's study, please go back and read it! If you stopped reading it because it was too long, again, go back and read it! We need to read it again!

We are truly leaving in the last days and the last days are no time to be living without watching and praying always!

We are going to continue with the supplementary study from the previous WWN article we read-

1)  All heaven took a deep and joyful interest in the creation of man. Human beings were a new and distinct order. (R&H, Feb.11, 1902)

2)  God created man a superior being; he alone is formed in the image of God, and is capable of partaking of the divine nature; of co-operating with his Creator and executing His plans. (R&H, April 21, 1885)

3)  Man was the crowning act in the creation of God, made in the image of God, and designed to be a counterpart of God; ... (R&H, June 18, 1895)

Truth?

Gen 1:26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen 1:28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Most of us, not all, but most of us know what it feels like to make something- the happiness we feel when we've finished and it's a job well.  We've had a hand in bringing something into existence and that's with things that already exist and our manipulation. God brought something into existence that He completely created and it was mankind! We were made in HIS IMAGE. We were made in HIS LIKENESS!

We were NEWLY created, we never existed until He brought us into reality. We weren't angels, we were something NEW we were human beings.

We were created in God's image, the angels were NOT created in God's image.  We were something SPECIAL.

A crowning act of creation.   No one can dispute this, no one who believes in the word of God.

We were designed to be a counterpart of God.

'coun·ter·part
ˈkountərˌpärt/
Noun
A person or thing holding a position or performing a function that corresponds to that of another person or thing in another place.'

Performing a function that corresponds to that of another.

God did not create us and expect us to live without Him.

So many people imagine that we were brought into existence and left to fend for ourselves. That our Creator (if we had one at all) abandoned us and flew off to other worlds, other universes.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

God NEVER intended to separate from us!

We were made in HIS IMAGE. We were made to be different than what we are. We were not made to be spiritless and that is what sinning did. Sinning took the Spirit of God from us.  Jesus tells us we must be born again, born with spirit and water. God is spirit.  God wants us to be spirit with Him!  As a counterpart to Him.

Why, you might ask, weren't we just created spirit to begin with? We were created in flesh a NEW creation!  God wasn't creating little gods, but an image, a likeness of Him in flesh.

We know that our Savior will forever retain His flesh, His CHANGED immortalized flesh.  He returned from God and showed Thomas the wounds in His hands, in His side and told him to touch him. Thomas didn't feel a nothingness, a spirit vapor, but flesh. We will be forever like our Savior after He returns.

We are very special creations and we have to comprehend this that we will be HIS once more. By the grace of our Savior we will be HIS.

Do we comprehend our uniqueness? Satan doesn't want us to. Satan doesn't want us to realize that one day if we have faith in our Savior we will be with our God eternally as we were created to be. Our God has NOT given up on us, He's saved us!

Please, Savior, save us! We would be YOURS as You created us to be.

By YOUR LOVE!  Through YOUR GRACE and MERCY!
