No Worries About Tomorrow.

Mat_6:34  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

No thought for the morrow.
No thought for tomorrow.
Is it possible?

How many people live their lives caught up in a tomorrow that never really comes?

It's true tomorrow never really does arrive because every new day brings another tomorrow, but today was yesterday's tomorrow. We live in yesterday's tomorrows, we live in todays and we lived in yesterdays.  I know, I'm just saying what we already know.  There's nothing like getting older and realizing just how fast time goes by. Then again, there may come a day when time stops going fast and is an unending agony to live through, each minute an eternity all its own.

Take no thought for tomorrow. It sort of goes along with this…

Php 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Be careful for nothing… that includes tomorrow, right?

Two very amazing commands-  Be care for nothing- in other words- don't worry about anything.
And, take no thought for tomorrow-in other words- don't worry at all about tomorrow.

Do you think perhaps our worrying is a source of concern? What about this--

Luk 21:26  Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth…

Luk 21:34  And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

Hearts failing for fear- so scared about the future the fear is deadly, faith destroying.
So caught up in the CARES of this life we neglect the coming of the Lord.

Jesus rebuked a worried Martha-
Luk 10:41  And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
Luk 10:42  But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Martha was careful and troubled- she was worried about many things, and Jesus knew that worrying was detrimental to her.

Do your remember reading this before-

Mat 6:25  Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Mat 6:26  Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Mat 6:27  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Mat 6:28  And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
Mat 6:29  And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Mat 6:30  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
Mat 6:31  Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Mat 6:32  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Mat 6:33  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

And it brings us back to this--

Mat 6:34  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, and if we listen to this command then we will stop worrying, right? If we are seeking God first, we are not focusing on worrying, but focusing on God. We need to learn to take our eyes off ourselves and put them on our God!

We ARE weak and He IS strong, just like that children's son, 'Jesus Loves Me'.

We need to look to His strength and stop focusing on our weakness. When we focus on our weaknesses we are taking our eyes of Christ. Worrying is focusing on our weakness- our inability to change circumstances that are truly beyond our ability to control. We may have NO control but we do have PRAYER, the ability to talk to our God and believe in Him, and His will.

Truly EACH day we are living in ( the only day we can live it - one at a time ) has enough evil- worries, problems, situations all of its own and we do NOT need to borrow evil. May God help us, help me! I've been known as being a worrier for most of my life and by the grace of God I need to stop. I need to let go and truly let God be in my life first and foremost! When things to worry about come about, by HIS grace I need to look to GOD not at the worry. Please LORD.

All through Jesus Christ our LORD and SAVIOR, now and forever!!!!!!!
