Life Is Not Fair.

All of us initially have a sentence of eternal death upon us because we are separated from our salvation. If you live solely for existence right now, believing this is all there is and there isn't any more, how utterly depressing life must be. We are born through no will of our own. Helplessly we are thrust into life and dependent upon others to raise us until we can fend for ourselves, and that age is different all over the world. In some countries you have small children out in the streets begging for food to survive because they've been left very early on to fend for themselves. The sheer horrors that exist in the world we are born into are enough for us to have to realize that this cannot be how it was supposed to be. That we can even think that should be enough to tell us there is something more, something different. WHY can one person be born into fortune and another into poverty? WHY can one person be born healthy and another born very sickly? There are so many whys and so many unknowns, but one thing for sure we have to agree on- there is no fairness to life, none. We say that this or that isn't fair as if there is supposed to be some sort of just and impartiality to life. We struggle to make it so, in fact a lot of people struggle constantly to set standards of fairness that end up still falling far short of true justice and impartiality. We WANT fairness, no one wants a baby- through no fault of their own whatsoever- to be born deformed, yet it happens. No one wants to lose a loved one long before what we deem a good, long life. We WANT fairness. We want to have been born with the features of the good looking, the intelligence of the smart, the common sense of the wise. We WANT so much yet if life were truly as it should be, as it was intended to be, those wants would never be. We know this, deep down we know that surely by now mankind would have figured things out if it were in our power to do so. For every advance forward there are several advances towards more exposure of man's innate selfishness and evil.  Did you know even the most evil of people can be kind and generous when they want to be? Evil can have the façade of being the good hearted, angelic person who is always there to lend a hand. We just have no way of knowing the heart because we live in a corrupted world.

I refuse to believe this is how life is supposed to be on so many, many levels. I absolutely refuse to believe this is all there is.

I readily accept the HOPE offered that we live in an evil world BECAUSE something went drastically wrong, rather than believe we live in a world that is perfectly as it should be- a constant unending existence of sorrow for so many, many people while others get a good mingling of joy and sorrow, and very few get constant joy.  This WAS NOT how it was supposed to be, and we know it whether we admit to it or not.

Some choose not to believe this is so because of a faulty idea they are too smart to believe. They refuse hope choosing to die in their intelligence, their superior logic that does not want to give in to what they perceive as a weakness. They do not need tangible proof for so many things, yet in this they demand it or else.

The sentence of eternal death can be taken away, we can be given a new hope - a promise of eternal life.

We can be given life, we who were dead in our sinful state.
If we live our pilgrim's life caught up in the ways that the sin ruled world would have us live it, then we are subject to the spirit of evil that separated us from God in the beginning and continues to seek our separation from our only real hope. Sounds like a fictional tale doesn't it? There are so many stories of good overcoming evil, because deep down we know the forces at play are real and we want the good to overcome the evil- we cheer when good wins out, sparking the hope in us. We choose whether to be dead in sin, or alive in hope through Jesus Christ.

More on this tomorrow all by the grace and will of our LORD, now and forever.

Eph 2:1  And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Eph 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Eph 2:4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Eph 2:5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Eph 2:6  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Eph 2:7  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9  Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eph 2:10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
