First.
We know what that
word means, don't we? When I write- first, I know it means before all other
things. The first in line is before all others in that line. The first day
means the day that starts before all others. Your first day of school, of work,
of anything, is the day that comes before all the rest. We understand what
first means, it's not a hard concept to comprehend. When reading a recipe it
will often tell us what we are to do first and sometimes (not all the time) but
sometimes a recipe will turn out fine even when we don't do what it says to do
first. Other times if we don't follow the instructions and do what it says to
do first it can ruin the recipe completely. If you are told to be first you
know the position you are being told to take.
So when we are told what to do first by our Savior, should we listen?
Seek FIRST the
kingdom of God and His righteousness.
Mat 6:33 But
seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness
Jesus was
teaching--
Mat 5:1 And
seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his
disciples came unto him Mat 5:2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them,
saying,
A lesson for his
disciples- A lesson for the people listening.
Mat 7:28 And
it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished
at his doctrine:
Mat 7:29 For
he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
Seek FIRST the
kingdom of God and his righteousness.
Before seeking
ANYTHING else we are to seek God and His kingdom, His righteousness.
How do we seek the
kingdom of God and His righteousness?
Mat_7:7 Ask,
and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened unto you:
Luk 12:29 And
seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of
doubtful mind.
More tomorrow on
this by the grace of our God! All through Jesus Christ our LORD and SAVIOR!
May we seek Him
first, may we seek His righteousness first, His kingdom first. Please teach us
how to seek You first.
