How do we study the
Book of Revelation?
Prayerfully! Very
prayerfully.
Do you study the
Word of God as a scholar? As a scribe? As a teacher? We KNOW there are roles we
are to take on in our lives, roles we are designed for. Some will be teachers,
some will be prophets, some will be scribes and so on.
Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some,
prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers
There isn't a single
person who is all of these things.
So, saying that, and
asking how we are to study the book of Revelation we have to study it realizing
that a lot of us are NOT teachers, we are NOT prophets, we are NOT scribes, we
are NOT Biblical scholars.
I fully believe that God will allow all of us the KNOWLEDGE we need to belong to HIS.
We are BLESSED if we
keep the prophecy sayings. We are BLESSED if we read this book.
Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that
hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written
therein: for the time is at hand.
Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the
words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God
shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words
of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of
life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this
book.
Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith,
Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Rev 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with
you all. Amen.
How important is
this book? VERY important!
However- this book
is a book of prophecy and not so easy to understand. We need teachers to teach
us, we need to study this as ever very prayerfully. The teachers of this very
important book of prophecy are accountable for what they are teaching. Did you read the last verses? If anyone ADDS
to this book God will add the plagues to them. If anyone takes away anything
from this book God will take away their part in the book of life and they will
not enter the holy city! The teachers
are ACCOUNTABLE for what they are teaching!
We however are accountable to search for the truth and teachers of the
truth! We will never be able to say we were led astray so don't punish us. We
are accountable for being led astray when we aren't truly seeking the
truth. We are allowed to believe lies
when we aren't seeking truth! By the
grace of God we will find the truth but we MUST seek for it with ALL our heart!
Jer_29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye
shall search for me with all your heart.
This is TRUTH!
We are going to
study this book of Revelation and it's not for the first time and by the grace
of God it won't be the last. May GOD bless us as we seek ONLY HIS TRUTH!
Please, Father, please guide us! Let the Holy Spirit guide us along the entire
way as we seek to KNOW your truth, your will, You!
Forgive us please,
and save us from ourselves!
